Verified BuyerDeceptive sale price / inflated sale price
- - Bought a 2020 Nissan Murano SV on 10/24/2020 for $28,388.
- - Dealer allegedly inflated to $40,000 and used bait-and-switch; targeted Asians; unresolved.
My brother and brother in-law purchased 2020 NISSAN MURANO SV on 10/24/2020 with a Red Tag Sale Price of $28,388.00. As an Asian consumer , my brother and brother in-law was discriminately targeted and ripped off .
The Dealer deceptively inflated the sale price to $40,000.00. This SUV is plain that does not have the bells and whistles . Dealer deceptively inflated the sale price to $40,000.00. My brother reported the error to the sales guy and financing guy but was given the round and round .
He was never given the chance to talk to the manager / supervisor of the Dealership. He was told he cannot return the vehicle. Buyer beware @ Clay Cooley Nissan at 39690 *** Fwy Dallas Tx 75237, my brother is still trying to get this case resolved. My brother was told to come back which he did but still nothing was done to resolve the issue.
To Whoever who has the same experience. pls. come forward.
I know a case that happened last year to an elderly married couple who experienced a bait and switch price as well. Seems like there's a pattern of deception to minorities.
Preferred solution: To correct the financing sale price
User's recommendation: AVOID THIS DEALER
Maintenance
Your maintenance department sucks. I will never take my car back to the *** Freeway on the South side anymore.
- There are no pros as far as i am concerned
- Are not professional and liars
- I did not like their services
Preferred solution: Service department needs to be disciplined. Poor service. I waited 4 hours after I had made an appointment for 8am I left at 12:40pm. The service advisor is not Julio needs a lot of training.
User's recommendation: Never deal with the maintenance department

- - No sticker; price quoted $41,870.
- - Price with trade-in and taxes was $42,870; no explanation for $1,000 rise.
- - Sticker later showed $41,870.
They have come back with an explanation that it was the "Clay Cooley connection protection package" for $1,000. This item was never shown to me on the MSRP sticker or any of the quote sheets or the closing papers.
This is something I do not want.
Two months latter, Instead of a refund for $1,000, sent me the paper work for this package that I will probably never use. The package is::GPS (dealers use for tracking inventory) $395Anti-Theft reward for $2,500 $199Polysteel Protection Package $406 What a rip off!!
I found the car I wanted but no sticker. Asked the salesmen and he promised to provide and quoted me the price at $41,870.
When they issued the price quote with trade-in, taxes etc.
The price was $42,870. They could not explain the difference of $1,000 increase.
Later they provided me the sticker and the price was $41,870 and not $42,870.
- Good product
Preferred solution: Price reduction
I want to file a complaint against clay Cooley Nissan on Wheatland
They lied about covering my 2016 Altima motor and my car is under 60,000 miles the guy Antonio lied to my daughter about the car I need some one to help or I am going to get my lawyer involved
- I dislike the dishonesty about my car warranty
- Are not professional and liars
- I did not like their services
Poor product
- - Oil change took 3.5 hours.
- - 2018 Rogue needs a radio replacement and a faulty driver's seat.
- - Parts were not available, and there was no follow-up.
I went into the service department for a oil change and left 3 and half hours later...with just a oil change. Apparently my 2018 Rogue needs the radio replaced and my drivers seat has a faulty frame.
I can not adjust my seat nor my radio. Again my 2018 Rogue has issues and guess what Clay Cooley had me sitting in the lobby because they didn't have the parts. I can't get my time back nor did my service advisor follow up with me. After seeing others leave before me that came after, I sought her out.
She did not go over anything else about my car.
So Hopefully nothing else is going on with the 2018 Rogue. But as usual no follow up and poor service.
They will not help you
- - Bought a Titan in Feb; wants warranties removed; dealer unresponsive.
- - Warranties paid total 5,850; ELO not received; BBB complaint filed.
Bought a Titan truck in Feb, Wanted the warranties removed Mechanic VSC-$3,000.00, Mult. Shield - $1,200.00, Driver + - $800.00 and ELO - $850.00 (this one I never received but paid for) but after numerous times going to the dealership, Phone calls to the dealer and getting a signed cancellation letter signed by the F&I Director nothing has been done.
Runaround every time. Try to ask for the corporate number you will get the deer in the headlights look from them. Now I had to file this to the BBB trying to get someone from them to move on this. I truck only has 2,500 miles on it.
I love the truck but at this point they can have it back, cancel the contract and both parties walk away. I don't even want my money paid into it back, just walk away clean.
- Excellent
- Sales staff
- Finance dept
- Lack of knowledge about the corporate
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME
- - The finance person was inexperienced and unprofessional.
- - Management blamed mistakes as misunderstandings and did not provide the bottom-line price.
In the past week I spent over twelve hours trying to make a deal work on a 2015 Murano SL, only to have it blow up because of their "wet behind the ears finance person, not knowing what he was saying or doing. He gets up and leaves me sitting in a junked up office.
Trust worthiness should be job one, but, not at this dealership. Any mistake that management made in the negotiation period, was put off by two sales managers as simply a misunderstanding. Not on my part. When for two days the sales person or management were asked for the bottom line drive out price, i could not seem to get it.
When I finally saw and signed off of on the price , it changed when i went to pay for the car Management was to call me the next day April 13, but did not . I got a real eerie feeling about this dealership after reading many of the reviews.
It unfortunately turned out to be true. Buyer be ware
Never again
- - Dropped off at 8:00 am; Edweyn promised a loaner if not ready by 2:00 pm.
- - Three hours later at 5:45 pm they kept the car and calls were transferred.
So i dropped my car off at clay cooley nissian in Dallas at 8:00 am 10/04/17 i advised My rep Edweyn that if car was not ready by 2pm i would need a loaner, I never heard anything so I call him he says give me 45min, ok he calls 3 hours later at 545 ,15 min before the rental close and says they need to keep my car ,If i hurry i can get a rental. So unprofessional , and inconsiderate, l will not be using clay cooley service department again. Also when you call you get transfered from person to person no one knows what is going on.
Horrible customer service
- - Waited 4 hours for vehicle pickup from 2-6 pm.
- - Vehicle ordered in March, not ready until end of July.
- - I wouldn't purchase here.
waited 4 hrs on a vehicle pick up from 2 to 6 pm. the vehicle was ordered in March and wasn't ready until end of July...I'd never purchase a vehicle here.
only because it's a fleet for my job is the only reason I'd deal with these rude people.
even when they answer the phone they sigh as if you're an inconveince to them. horrible customer service all the way around
Mr. Leon Suggs and Mr. Isaac Brooks at Clay Cooley near Wheatland & I-20 in Dallas provided the BEST customer service ever received from a car dealership!!
- - Purchased a Nissan Maxima at Clay Cooley in Dallas after great service.
- - Isaac Brooks and Leon Suggs delivered outstanding, professional service.
I recently purchased a Nissan Maxima from the Clay Cooley dealership near Wheatland & I-20 in Dallas. From the moment I walked through the door I was greeted by Mr.
Isaac Brooks, the Sales Representative. I was very impressed by Mr. Brooks' outstanding customer service skills and knowledge. He was not your typical pushy or aggressive salesperson.
Rather, he displayed a remarkable gift, i.e., he is a people's person with a sincere interest in his customers' concerns. Then I was introduced to Mr. Leon Suggs, the Sales Manager, who also impressed me with his outstanding customer service and professionalism. I am a firm believer that customer service can either make or break a business.
Because of the fantastic service I received from these two gentlemen, I purchased a Nissan maxima the very same day and would highly recommend toall of my associates and co-workers to enjoy the service I received. Thank you Clay Cooley from employing the excellent representives.
- Excellent
Worst used car dealer
- - Destiny said a Nissan Altima was available, but it was in the bodyshop.
- - Only a white Altima with 77k miles was on the lot.
These people are the worst dealers you can ever find. I went to Claycooley Nissan dallas to buy a nissan Altima after I got a call from Destiny(sales rep) saying that the car was available.
But when I went to the Dealership I was told that the car is in bodyshop . I believe they just advertise the cars to get people to visit their store and try to sell them some piece of *** they have.
2013 nissan altima is just a bait to lure customers in to the store (attached is the screenshot black)all they had was a white altima with 77k miles on it. Dont trust these people and waste your time
- Are not professional and liars
Clay Cooley Duncanville Tx July 2016
- - Sales manager pushed financing; numbers later changed.
- - Only Ellis the salesman seemed honest; we bought the vehicle.
Huge Mistake to go there. Wish we had read the BBB and customer reviews before buying...
Tried to pay cash but insisted by Sales Manager (not our salesman, Alonso Ellis) but the manager....could give us much better deal to finance. Gave us money off price, very low % rate since our credit score was 800....When we got to finance, all numbers had been changed and thousands had been added on . They even doubled our interest rate thinking we would not catch it. Very dishonest and the State of Texas needs to investigate.
They tried to bully us and make us thing it MIGHT not can be changed. We were there all day until 7:40pm. Worse nightmare of our 50 years of marriage and purchasing vehicles for our family. Only decent one we saw was our sales person, which is why we bought vehicle.
It is very clear this is a very dishonest dealership. We sent 2 page letter to Clay Cooley but no response...of course.
We will confirm again that our sales man Mr Ellis, gave us no false information during our transaction.
- Only thing likeable was alonso ellis
Preferred solution: We want to advise and warn every one we can regarding your dealership and practices. We also want the state to get involved just in case what others are saying about this dealership is correct. Your reviews can not all be lies nor can your BBB reports
Unbelievable!
- - Visited Clay Cooley Nissan to view a pre-owned car, and after the test drive the salesman wouldn’t haggle, saying they were losing money.
I went to Clay Cooley Nissan on Wheatland Road after I had spoken to a sales person about a car they had on the pre-owned lot that I was interested in,...so I set an appointment. After the test drive and filling out all the paper work in order to start to deal,...would you believe the sales person wouldn't 'haggle' with me saying that they were losing money on the deal they were already giving me,...I told them to F' off since no dealership 'loses' money on any deal,...I said to them that is the oldest line in the book,...
Clay Cooley Nissan DTPA Violations
- - Warranty work on my 2014 Maxima was not completed.
- - The car was kept for over a week with no updates.
- - Parts on order; promised date not met.
I have bought 2 Sentras, and a 2014 Maxima all within 3 years with no concerns until now. I am very concerned and now angry with regard to the service at your Nissan dealer. It is way above and beyond just reaching the service manager Vernon of whom yet has to return my call. I am sure you are a very busy man, so let me just give you the factual events that are clearly in violation of TX Consumer Protections Act(s) and TX Deceptive Trade Practices Act, not to mention other potential fraud violations. I (as a last resort) send you this communication since I am unsuccessful at resolution at the dealer level with the last correspondence left for your GM (Matt) of whom wont, or has not had time to return my call.

RO OPEN by Jermal Scott #8589. under customer # EC473104, and RO # 717812.
Type: WN Underhood Vias control confirmed and accepted for warranty. Documentation provided to customer and promised completion date of 10/24/15. An Altima SL Rental was issued/paid for by dealer (since no Maximas were available ) due to repairs being over 24 hours and the wait time to get said parts in.
10/24/15
Call to dealer on day vehicle supposed to be ready results in being told by Stephanie that "parts are on order and latest would be Wed the 28th for completion and delivery and to stay in rental vehicle."
10/28/15, 10/29/15
Call to Dealer no response. No call back on both days.

Nissan USA re-contacted. Regional Assigned for warranty claim on separate issue (not the same as original/above that was already accepted). This separate issue was for the Rear View Mirror, since piece absent to turn into Nissan for dealer to be compensated for claim, so consumer initiated assistance. This was listed as Type: "CN" and not "WN" to protect dealer until accepted under warranty.
*This was not part of the main claim as accepted under same RO 717812 as "WN." as authorized and "awaiting parts."
10/31/2015
Additional call into dealer. Vernon returns phone call in afternoon. Claims he will get back to me and that in mean time they are no longer warranting original item as previously accepted and completely contrary to documentation and prior communication as listed above.
To date Clay Cooley Nissan has been in physical control and custody of this vehicle for 1 week and 2 days and failure to perform or due as promised and as written, has failed in completion of the contracted warranty work. Additionally, pre-paid maintenance plan items have not been completed either to include oil change and tire rotation.
What and where was my vehicle for over a week? What transpired and what has gone on with my vehicle while in Clay Cooley Nissan's possession? Clay Cooley Nissan has agreed to file this as written on RO 717812 with Nissan USA, and was offered to use my MPP Extended warranty plan. However, the service manager advised to include claim(s) under the manufacturers warranty only to retract the written agreement and promises on 10/31/15 and then withhold vehicle for over a week in possession with no warranty work completed as promised, or pre-paid maintenance completed as promised under MPP Pre-paid maintenance plan.
I am attempting to encourage Clay Cooley Enterprises in an informal memo/email to work towards resolution at this time. Failure to do so will result in contacting legal counsel and leaving vehicle on property until the situation is disposed of/litigated.
It should also be known that a mechanics lien (should one be placed on the vehicle during litigation) petion copy will need to be submitted to the lien-holder, NMAC for notice purposes until resolved.

Clay Cooley Nissan (I-20 & Wheatland) - WHAT'S THE PENALTY FOR FRAUD??
Are companies penalized for fraud? I sure wish this dealership was. My husband and I were shopping for a new vehicle on 01/01/14, and decided to go see Clay. We were considering a VERSA, and were "talked" into what we thought could be a good deal. We went to the finance dept. and signed paperwork for the warranty on the vehicle. The finance rep. told us that their computers were down and that we'd have to come in the next day to finish the paperwork - he couldn't even print the paperwork we needed to sign to complete the deal . He handed my husband a signature pad and told him to sign it. (We take the blame for that, we should have asked what that was about. We just assumed it had something to do with our trade-in since that's what we were discussing at the time.)
Anyway, long story short, we later learned that this electronic signature was used in place of any document they deemed necessary for the sale of the vehicle. So, when we called back on 01/03/14, to tell them we'd decided not to purchase the VERSA, the finance rep. said that was fine because their computers were still down. So we thought that was the end of it.
Can you imagine our surprise when we drove up to our house that evening and saw a VERSA parked in our driveway that we'd never signed for? The car wasn't even available for us to test drive when we were at the dealership, b/c they hadn't put any oil or gas in it yet. The door to this vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. We had ABSOLUTELY NO PAPERWORK ON THIS VEHICLE!
We made a lot of phone calls for days, and no one would talk to us. The only thing they told us was to call the financing company -- and that would have been fine, if we knew who the H*** financed the car (NO PAPERWORK!!). Less than 2 wks. later, (and no the car was not still parked in my driveway for that long; we parked it at the dealership and tried to give them the keys, but they wouldn't take them) we received a bill. WOW, we finally have some paperwork. We called the Nissan Corp. and finally someone listened to what happened to us. We were told that we'd receive a fraud package in the mail, along with the electronic contract.
Well guess what?? Someone from Clay Clueless decided to give us a call soon after. This "human" said that they were going tear up the contract, and could we please give him a score of 10 when we received the customer review. I'm confused again, does that mean that if we give him a 10, he'd tear up the contract??

Yep, happened to my husband as well. He paid $7000+ over MSRP and tried to give some BS explanation as to why but I have been in the car business accounting office for over 25+ years so I know how it all works and they never could tell me why the selling price was more than what he agreed too and he has had nothing but problems with the truck and it was a basic truck with no bells and whistles and paid way too much for but he was forced into the truck because his other truck had brakes problems and they would not get another truck from one of their other stores, it had to be the one that was on their not.
